How much does it cost to have a baby in the U.S.?

I’m getting married in a few weeks, we’re plotting on starting a family in a couple of years, and my fiance does not yet have a job or health insurance. My insurance plot is currently a health-spending account which reimburses me up to $1000 (probably up to $3000 when we’re ready to have children).
If worst comes to worst and my fiance has no insurance at that time and we have to pay for a newborn out of pocket, what should I expect to pay out, counting regular check ups, delivery, etc.?

Thanks in advance.
