Help with health insurance. “part of blood work not covered, i am stuck with $600 bill”?

My dr. ordered my 1st round of pregnancy blood work and I went in and had it done. I am now recieving a $610.00 bill because my insurance is telling me that part of the tests that were done were not covered by my insurance plot. I am so frusterated and upset by this. It’s already costly to bring a baby into this world, and really sucks when you are slapped with a huge unexpected bill. Should the blood work facility called my insurance to make sure everything was covered, or checked first before they preformed the tests? I have to start making payments on this or I will be sent to collections, which I do not want of course. I am suppsed to go in for more testing in a few weeks, I dont want to place my baby at risk, but I am frightened to death of recieving ANOTHER outragous bill. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
