Fact, Obama will cut Medicare and taking the health coverage away from your Grandma, Grandpa?

and maybe your mother and father. Seniors will be faced with high-priced Medicare Supp’s that they cannot not afford. A Medicare Supp policy can cost and individual 2,000 – 3,000 per year. Currently many seniors have Medicare Advantage plans that are funded through a grant to Medicare. Its 15 billion and Obama said in the first 10 minutes of the debate that he will cut this funding. Medicare Advantage plans do not cost any where near Medicare Supps. The cost of a Medicare Advantage plot is usually less than 300.00 PER YEAR. It provides much better coverage than Medicare itself. Some plans even offer preventive benefits.

Why would OBAMA want to cut this????

MAKE NO MISTAKE, HE SAID IT HIMSELF SEVERAL TIMES AND HE SAID IT WEDNESDAY NIGHT IN THE FIRST 10 MINUTES OF THE DEBATE. If you don’t believe me, watch the debate again and you will see it.

OBAMA IS TERRIBLE NEWS FOR SENIOR CITIZENS!!!!!!!!!

Vote for John McCain and protect our Senior citizens health care.
AGAIN, FOR THOSE WHO DOUBT THIS, WATCH THE FIRST 10 MINUTES OF THE DEBATE, ITS RIGHT, OBAMA SAID IT AND ITS NOT THE FIRST TIME HE SAID IT. HE WILL TAKE AWAY THE FUNDING FOR MEDICARE ADVANTAGE PLANS FOR SENIORS.
Rod,

its obvious that you know NOTHING about Medicare Advantage plans and how they work. Question a senior citizen who depends on the Medicare Advantage plot they have to keep healthy and pay their medical expenses and they will tell you how it works and why they NEED it.

Fact–you need to provide evidence in order to assert fact.

If the immigrant is over 65, they can apply for SSI and Medicaid and get more than a woman on Social Security, who worked from 1944 until 2004. She is only getting $791 per month because she was born in 1924 and there is a catch 22.

It is fascinating that the federal government provides a single refugee with a monthly allowance of $1,890. Each can also obtain an additional $580 in social help, for a total of $2,470 a month.

This compares to a single pensioner, who after contributing to the growth and development of America for 40 to 50 years, can only receive a monthly maximum of $1,012 in ancient age pension and Guaranteed Income Supplement.

Maybe our pensioners should apply as refugees!

Consider sending this to all your American friends , so we can all be ticked off and maybe get the refugees cut back to $1,012 and the pensioners up to $2,470. Then we can delight in some of the money we were forced to submit to the Government over the last 40 or 50 or 60 years.

Fact–he said he wants to get rid of subsidies to insurance that doesn’t help the medicare program.

From the transcript of the debate
    http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2008/10/debate-transcri.html

OBAMA: And some of the cuts, just to give you an example, we spend $15 billion a year on subsidies to insurance companies under the Medicare plot — it doesn’t help seniors get any better. It’s not improving our health care system. It’s just a giveaway.

Fact–McCain is the one who really wants to cut medicare

    http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/politics/20081017-1133-obama.html

ROANOKE, Va. – Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said Friday that Republican rival John McCain wants to cut $882 billion from Medicare over a decade to finance his health care plot and the result would be more costly drugs, diminished services and lower quality care for seniors.

“It’s entirely consistent with Sen. McCain’s record during his 26 years in Congress where, time and again, he’s opposed Medicare,” Obama said. “In fact, Sen. McCain has voted against protecting Medicare 40 times.”

Medicare Advantage Plans do help the elderly but not as much as channeling the money direct into Medicare managed programs as opposed those run by the private insurance companies. Also, McCain proposes the same cuts as Obama does. This question was definitrly posed by a McCain zealot.

You are right. It’s another casualty of the Obama rhetoric that won’t be appreciated until it’s too late. Obama is only focused on middle and lower income bracket workers to vote him in. Forget our elders.

Obama can’t fund his socialist agenda for the groups he’s sympathetic to without taking from the groups with whom he has no consideration, including small business owerners and Medicare recipients.
